Outline and Paraphrase the Passage

Outlining helps you to see how the ideas in a passage relate to each other. It also forces you to deal with everything in the passage. You can’t just skip over the troubling portions when you outline.

A good test to see if you understand a passage is to repeat it in your own words. This also makes it easier to compare your work and insights when you are in a bible study group.
